The convent has been abandoned from the early 1980’s and is in a terrible state of disrepair with the chapel being set on fire by vandals.
We have been to the Covent on a number of occasions to take photographs and have a look around; most of these visits have been done during the day. But when you visit the convent at night the atmosphere completely changes, with its long seemingly unending corridors and bricked up windows you feel very uneasy and almost closed in even though the place is vast.
On one of our night time visits we had only been in the place a few minutes when I started having problems with my camera, I knew the camera was working fine as I had taken some photos outside the building. After a few minutes I managed to fix the problem and we even felt relaxed and were having a laugh, then came the loudest bang. It seemed to come from the room next to us and sounded like some one had threw something at one of the large radiators, we examined the room and no explanation could be found for the noise.
